Welcome to the Turner Research Group. Our group investigates surface and interface mechanics topics in several areas, including MEMS, microelectronics, and nano-manufacturing processes. We have a range of ongoing projects, from fundamental investigations of adhesion in MEMS to the development of microscale devices for probing cell adhesion to the characterization of the degradation of atomic force microscobe probes. We focus on understanding the underlying mechanics and materials science issues and exploit this understanding to develop engineering solutions to a range of problems.
